The Smile

Eugene was watching his relatives and friends being killed, but he couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

Solution: Eugene worked as a clown in a circus. Once, animals escaped from their enclosures during a performance and everyone broke into a run. People, including members of his family, died in the stampede. But he couldn't wipe the smile off his face because of the clown makeup.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
