Death in a Phone Booth

A fisherman lies dead in a phone booth. The receiver hangs from its cord. Two of the panes are broken. He was not murdered. How did he die?

Solution: The fisherman was telling his friend over the phone how big the fish he had caught was. As he stretched out his arms, he broke the glass and cut his wrists, and bled to death.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
