Card 65 of 82

Piece of Paper on the Cactus

A man walks up to a cactus, looks at a piece of paper pinned there, and kills himself.

Solution: The man had been wandering lost in the desert and feared he was walking in circles. To test this, he pinned a blank piece of paper to a cactus and set off walking. When he came across the paper again, his fears were confirmed and he knew he would never find his way out.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
