The Taxi Driver

A lady is lucky enough to find a free taxi. But during the ride she turns out to be so talkative that the driver is about to lose his patience, so he tells her: "I'm very sorry, madam, but I can't hear a word you're saying. I'm stone deaf and my hearing aid is broken." On hearing this, the passenger stops talking. As soon as she gets out of the taxi she realizes the driver was not telling the truth. How did she realize?

How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
