Card 43 of 82

The Car Radio

A man is driving through the city. He turns on the radio and then shoots himself.

Solution: The man was a radio presenter who had planned an alibi. Before leaving the studio he had left a pre-recorded CD of his voice presenting his show (to give himself time to drive home and kill his wife). He was driving back to the studio when he turned on the radio and discovered that the CD had got stuck on one sentence. His alibi had collapsed.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
