Card 3 of 82

The Elevator

Every morning a man takes the elevator down from his apartment on the 10th floor to the ground floor. On the way home he rides to the 7th floor and walks the remaining stairs, except on rainy days, when he rides all the way to the 10th.

Solution: The man is very short and can only reach the button for the 7th floor. On rainy days he carries an umbrella, which lets him press the button for the 10th.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
