A Glass of Water

A man enters a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender pulls out a shotgun and points it directly at him. The man says 'Thank you' and walks out.

Solution: The man had the hiccups and wanted water to cure them. The bartender realised this and scared the hiccups out of him with the shotgun instead. The man, cured, thanked him and left.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
