Card 16 of 82

The Albatross

A man goes into a restaurant, orders albatross, eats one bite, and kills himself. Why?

Solution: The man was on a ship that was wrecked on a desert island. When the food ran out, another passenger brought him what he said was albatross, but it was really part of the man's wife, who had died in the wreck. The man suspected something, so when they were finally rescued he ordered albatross, realized that what he had eaten before was his wife, and killed himself.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
