Card 13 of 82

The Gunshot

A man fires a gun in the middle of the street. Many people run away. Some time later an ambulance takes away an injured person, yet nobody arrests the man.

Solution: The man fired the starting shot of a marathon. One of the runners got hurt at the start of the race but, naturally, no one was arrested.
How to play

Twisted Tales is a game of lateral thinking. Each card is a strange, usually macabre situation, and your group has to work out what really happened.

  1. Pick one player as the Game Master (the Narrator). Only the Game Master looks at the screen.
  2. The Game Master reads the prompt on the card out loud, then privately reads the solution using "Show solution".
  3. Everyone else asks questions to piece together the story.
  4. The Game Master may only answer "Yes", "No" or "Irrelevant" (when the question is a dead end).
  5. Keep asking and discussing theories until someone reconstructs the key events. Then the Game Master reads the full solution aloud.
  6. Use "Next" and "Back" to move between cards. You always start from the prompt.
